MITMondays: Drake's Back

MITMondays: Drake's Back

After dropping the infamous playlist last year, Drake had been rather quiet, leaving us to assume that he was working on an album. On Friday, the 6 God dropped two surprise tracks on us. He packaged them as an EP entitled Scary Hours. This happens to confirm assumptions we had and I personally enjoyed the two new tracks. On the second track we got a glimpse of Mixtape Drake where he is actually rapping and that wasn't the only thing he did.

The opening track was entitled God's Plan. It was a solid track that I can see being the spring anthem due to the large amount of IG  captions. You can see it already on twitter and the songs just dropped Thursday night/ Friday morning, by noon everybody only loved their bed & their momma. With this kind of  traction, by time the spring hits it will be in heavy rotation.

Now on to the second track. This track was entitled Diplomatic Immunity but sadly there wasn't a Dipset Cameo. However we do   see that glimpse of Mixtape Drake I mentioned earlier. I genuinely hope that this is the direction he is going in for his new project. Drake dug deep in his bag for this one and I need him to keep whatever he found. That includes the energy he found when he took shots at Joe Budden. In the latter half of the song  Drake says,

"Complex like short niggas around tall ladies... I've seen buddin' careers turn into sittin' around and talk about other careers, judging their peers."

This was as close to a direct shot as on can hope for from a Subliminal Drizzy. At one point there was beef between them but it has allegedly been squashed. I don't know what the root of this new beef is but I'm here for it. Joe said there is one rapper he is willing to come out of retirement for. Could he be coming for the 6 God? Only time will tell.  As Always...
